Lenzi za macho ni vipengee vya macho vinavyotoa uwazi na nyuso zilizopinda ambazo zinaweza kurudi nyuma na kulenga mwanga. Zinatumika sana katika mifumo mbali mbali ya macho ili kudhibiti miale ya mwanga, kurekebisha maono, kukuza vitu, na kuunda picha. Lenzi ni vitu muhimu katika kamera, darubini, darubini, miwani ya macho, projekta, na vifaa vingine vingi vya macho.
Kuna aina mbili kuu za lensi:
Lenzi mbonyeo (au zinazobadilika).: Lenzi hizi ni nene zaidi katikati kuliko kingo, na huunganisha miale ya mwanga inayofanana ambayo hupita ndani yake hadi mahali pa kuzingatia upande wa pili wa lenzi. Lenzi mbonyeo hutumika kwa kawaida katika kukuza miwani, kamera, na miwani ili kusahihisha maono ya mbali.
Lenzi za concave (au diverging).: Lenzi hizi ni nyembamba katikati kuliko kingo, na husababisha miale ya mwanga sambamba inayopita kati yao kutofautiana kana kwamba inatoka kwenye kitovu cha mtandaoni kwenye upande ule ule wa lenzi. Lenzi za concave hutumiwa mara nyingi katika kurekebisha mtazamo wa karibu.
Lenzi zimeundwa kulingana na urefu wao wa kuzingatia, ambao ni umbali kutoka kwa lensi hadi mahali pa msingi. Urefu wa kuzingatia huamua kiwango cha kupiga mwanga na malezi ya picha.

Kiini cha kuzingatia: Mahali ambapo miale ya mwanga huungana au kuonekana kutengana baada ya kupita kwenye lenzi. Kwa lenzi mbonyeo, ni mahali ambapo miale sambamba huungana. Kwa lenzi ya concave, ni mahali ambapo miale tofauti inaonekana kutokea.
Urefu wa kuzingatia: Umbali kati ya lenzi na sehemu kuu. Ni kigezo muhimu kinachofafanua nguvu ya lenzi na saizi ya picha iliyoundwa.
Kitundu: Kipenyo cha lenzi kinachoruhusu mwanga kupita. Tundu kubwa huruhusu mwanga mwingi kupita, na hivyo kusababisha picha angavu zaidi.
Mhimili wa macho: Mstari wa kati unaopita katikati ya lenzi perpendicular kwa nyuso zake.
Nguvu ya lenzi: Inapimwa kwa diopta (D), nguvu ya lenzi inaonyesha uwezo wa kuakisi wa lenzi. Lenses za convex zina nguvu nzuri, wakati lenzi za concave zina nguvu hasi.
Lenzi za macho zimeleta mapinduzi katika nyanja mbalimbali, kutoka unajimu hadi sayansi ya matibabu, kwa kuturuhusu kutazama vitu vilivyo mbali, kusahihisha matatizo ya kuona, na kufanya taswira na vipimo kwa usahihi. Wanaendelea kuchukua jukumu muhimu katika kuendeleza teknolojia na uchunguzi wa kisayansi.
